The Northwest Audio Information Service and AM 1290 is in transition of becoming a "non commercial" operation through the support of free will donations, underwriting/sponsorship and the support of listeners.
This change will become fully effective by Jan 1, 2016, then the plan is to file as a public benefit 501c3 and still provide prgramming to the community through news, information and educational programming.
NWAIS/1290 will be returning on the AM Dial at 1290(Carrier Current)plus NWAIS/1290 is in negotiation(TBA)with a local non profit and thanks to them, the audio from NWAIS/1290 would be carried by the non profit and programming would be heard via a Public Access TV Channel(Comcast)Vancouver-SW Washington(also TBA). Times and such of when NWAIS/1290 Would be carried.
This will make this service to all Comcast Subscribers and this will be made available for those who may NOT get the internet or physically not capable to do so or such in facillities.

What is AM 1290? AM 1290 is a branded Internet Radio Station and an over the air broadcasting outlet (for those who may not have the internet). AM 1290 not only broadcasts Community minded programming but also plays Music from 1954-79 and Old Time Radio Shows.
Location and History of AM 1290: AM 1290-Gaule Broadcasting is located at 12611 NE 99th Street-AA 196, Vancouver Washington 98682(Orchards, WA). The Studio, Production Facility and Office-Sales is located within my living facility in order to keep costs down and having a central location and having more control of operation from daily station routines to the engineering and maintenance of The(LPB AM 25 Carrier Current Transmitter)operating at 5 Watts.
AM 1290 has been in operation since June 7, 2012. Why I chose this niche' programming? After trying many combinations, this current format has been very appealing and is very successful.
I have over 20 Years in Community-Public Service Broadcasting Management and Non Commercial Service. I have been in Radio Broadcasting in all levels since 1975. I have also experience in Public Relations and Community Affairs.
AM 1290 also offers an outlet for voicing opinions and thoughts. AM 1290 plays Music from 1954-79, Old Time Radio plus Nostalgia and Historical audio archives by presenting the past and having preservation for today and tomorrow.
AM 1290 provides programming to a 50+ mature audience and showcasing products and services that effects the lifestyle of seniors and baby boomers within Clark County and having a strong influence of current and or future purchases i.e.; Adult Care, Financial Investments, Legal, Estate Planning, Hair-Personal Care, Hearing or Vision, Healthy Eating, Insurance, Shopping, Travel, Home Maintenance, etc.
AM 1290 does provide timely information that effects the 50+ Generation such as upcoming community events from The City, Civic Groups, Non Profit, Advice, Classes, Educational, Distance Learning, Social Issues, Nutrition, Medical, Retirement, AARP, Wellness, Recycling, Public Transportation, Meals on Wheels, Community Centers, Clark County programs and MORE at no charge.
